Lens Guide & Product Information
What's the difference between coloured and clear lenses?
Clear lenses are designed purely to correct your vision, while coloured lenses can enhance or change the appearance of your natural eye colour. With Maati, both options are made to the same high comfort and safety standards.
How do I choose between daily and monthly lenses?
Daily lenses are worn once and thrown away - perfect for convenience, hygiene, and busy lifestyles. Monthly lenses are worn for up to 30 days with proper cleaning and storage - great for regular wearers looking for value.
The choice depends on your lifestyle, budget, and eye care needs.
Do Maati lenses come in prescription strengths?
Yes! Maati lenses are available in a range of prescription strengths, so you can enjoy clear, comfortable vision while choosing the style and lens type that suits you best.
Which lens is best for dry eyes?
If you have dry or sensitive eyes, Maati Proto OneDay is a great choice. It contains hyaluronic acid and has a high water content to keep your eyes feeling hydrated and comfortable all day.
Are there any bundles or offers available?
Yes, we often run special promotions and bundle deals to give you better value on your lenses. Be sure to check our website or sign up to our mailing list so you don’t miss out.
What is hyaluronic acid, and why is it used in your lenses?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that helps retain moisture. In our lenses, it keeps your eyes feeling hydrated, smooth, and comfortable - even during long hours of wear.
What does PFAS-free mean and why does it matter?
PFAS (often called “forever chemicals”) are synthetic compounds that don’t break down easily and can be harmful. Maati lenses are certified PFAS-free, so you can feel confident knowing your eyes are safe from these chemicals.
Application & Removal
How do I apply Maati lenses correctly?
Start with clean, dry hands. Place the lens on the tip of your finger - it should look like a smooth, rounded bowl. Gently hold your upper eyelid with one hand and pull down your lower lid with the other, then look forward or slightly upward as you place the lens on your eye. Blink a few times to help it settle comfortably.
How do I safely remove my lenses?
Wash and dry your hands first. Look up and gently pull down your lower eyelid. Using your thumb and index finger, lightly pinch the lens and lift it off your eye. If it feels stuck, blink a few times or apply a few drops of sterile saline or rewetting solution before trying again.
What if I can’t get my lens out?
Don’t panic - this can happen occasionally. Use a few drops of sterile saline or rewetting solution to rehydrate the lens and blink gently. This usually loosens it. If it still doesn’t come out, take a short break and try again with clean, dry fingers. If you continue to have trouble, contact your optometrist for advice.
What should I do if my lens feels uncomfortable?
Remove the lens immediately, rinse it with fresh contact lens solution, and reinsert it. If the discomfort persists, the lens might be damaged or debris may be trapped underneath - discard it and use a new one. Persistent irritation should be checked by your optometrist.
How can I tell if my lens is inside out?
Place the lens on your fingertip and look at its shape. If the edges flare out slightly, it’s inside out. If it forms a perfect cup shape with smooth, upright edges, it’s the correct way around.
Can I wear makeup while using lenses?
Yes, but always insert your lenses before applying makeup and remove them before taking makeup off. Choose water-based products when possible and avoid applying eyeliner to the inner rim of your eyelid to keep your lenses clean and clear.
Eye Care & Maintenance
How should I clean and store my lenses?
If you’re using reusable lenses, always wash and dry your hands before handling them. Clean each lens with fresh multipurpose solution - never water - and store them in a clean, dry lens case filled with fresh solution. Replace the solution daily and never reuse old liquid. (For daily disposables, simply discard after each use.)
Can I sleep while wearing Maati lenses?
No. Maati lenses are not designed for overnight wear. Sleeping in contact lenses can reduce oxygen flow to your eyes and increase the risk of dryness or infection. Always remove your lenses before going to bed.
How often should I replace my lens case?
Replace your lens case every 1 to 3 months, or sooner if it looks dirty or damaged. Clean it daily by rinsing with contact lens solution (not water), and let it air dry with the caps off.
What eye care tips should I follow daily?
- Always wash your hands before touching your eyes or lenses.
- Stick to your recommended wear schedule.
- Keep your lenses and case clean using only lens solution.
- Give your eyes breaks from screen time when possible.
- Stay hydrated and see your optometrist for regular check-ups.
How does screen time affect my eyes?
Extended screen time can make you blink less, leading to dryness or irritation. Try the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Artificial tears or rewetting drops can also help if your eyes feel dry.
Can I use Maati lenses with dry or sensitive eyes?
Yes. Maati lenses are made with comfort-focused materials, including hyaluronic acid and a silk-edge design that helps retain moisture. They’re ideal for dry or sensitive eyes, providing smooth, breathable comfort throughout the day.
